What to do by bike from Bastia ?
Erbalunga and Bastia hictoric centre
The Cap Corse, with its small wooded roads or overlooking the sea, is an ideal terrain for electric bicycle rides. Halfway between Bastia and Macinaggio is the magnificent village of Erbalunga. Diving into the Mediterranean Sea with its remarkable Genoese tower, the village marks the gateway to the Cap Corse. Take your AppeBike from the Castel Brando hotel to wander through the small streets of the village of Erbalunga for a short stroll. For a longer ride, reach the town of Bastia in less than an hour. Stroll around the Place Saint Nicolas, surrounded by all its pretty cafés. Dine in one of the many restaurants or brasseries lining the old port and then climb up to the Citadel to admire the view as far as the islands of the Tuscan archipelago on a clear day.
You can continue your bike ride along the Marana lagoon strip, which has recently been upgraded with bicycle paths. Enjoy this moment with on one side the Biguglia pond with its rich flora and fauna and on the other side the immense beach of the Lido de la Marana.
Bastia and the Patrimonio road of Wines
To discover our exceptional grape varieties, take your Appebike super bike and take a small part of the Corsican Wine Route from Bastia. Discover the vineyards of the AOP Coteaux du Cap Corse and the AOP Muscat du Cap Corse. During your Appebike bike ride, enjoy along the Cap road the vines planted in terraces on the rocky hillside. Don’t hesitate to stop at one of the 5 cellars in the region to taste their wine in the company of the winegrowers.
Discover also the famous Patrimonio vineyard, spread over nearly 500 hectares from Saint Florent to Oletta. This PDO brings together 35 cellars, all on the edge of the Gulf of Saint Florent.
On the road, take the time to stop at the Col de Teghime: you will then have a view of Bastia and the Tyrrhenian Sea on one side and Saint Florent and the Mediterranean Sea on the other.
The village of Nonza
You can also take the road towards Nonza and join the west coast of the Cap Corse. It takes about three hours to reach this pretty medieval village perched in an eagle’s nest on a vertical cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
No need to look for a nice viewpoint to admire the view of the famous black pebble beach below Nonza, you will have it all along the road leading to the village.
The Cap Corse region is a real gold mine for both cycling experts and novices. The high relief that the region offers is not a problem, our e-bikes help you to climb all the mountains.
